Cerritos College’s automotive technology program recently received a $10,000 grant to help fund scholarships for students.

The college, in Norwalk, announced the grant from the Greater Los Angeles New Car Dealers Association on Tuesday, Jan. 25.

“GLANCDA has partnered with the Cerritos College Automotive Program for many years,” Bob Smith, executive director of the association, said in a statement. “Continuing this support will help educate well-trained technicians and future leaders of our industry. We are committed to supporting workforce development and job creation in the region.”

The association and its member dealerships have donated more than $500,000 to Cerritos College over the years for student scholarships, facility upgrades and training enhancement, a statement from the school said. In October, the organization donated another $10,000 to the school’s automotive technology program.
